Director of Finance

High growth Aerospace and Defense company seeks a Director of Finance to oversee accounting and finance operation. This is a mid-size organization with approximately 100 employees though they forecast aggressive growth. Revenue and headcount has increased consistently over the last 6 years and year over year profitability numbers are very impressive. This is a top seat financial role that can evolve into a C level position. Candidate must bring A&D experience to the table and be familiar with DCAA audits.

The Director of Finance will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of ERP and MRP system(s), directing the finance and accounting functions for the company to include establishing and maintaining the company’s accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives. Prepares financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Responsibilities
• Oversee and supervise the finance/accounting departments daily activities
• Prepare and interpret the operating and financial reports for the key management and the parent company
• Duties include billing, project set-up, G/L functions, preparing and/or reviewing of journal entries for month-end close ensuring transactions meet internal control reconciliations
• Calculate all pool allocations/indirect rates for provisional rates and budgets. Support the coordination and analysis of direct labor reporting
• Provide comprehensive operating and financial analyses covering all contracts and current business operations in compliance with acceptable Government contracts procedures
• Serve as the primary point of contact for U.S. Government/DCAA audits and forward pricing data
• Support bid and proposal by providing costings
• Responsible for the maintenance of the manufacturing plant’s cost accounting systems and cost controls
• Responsible for the financial coordination, administration and analysis of manufacturing operations. Includes analyzing sales and cost of sales, labor reporting, product costing, and monthly material usage variances and inventory adjustments
• Support the overall planning, coordination, and participation of the physical inventories as well as the analysis of the results. Responsible for the monthly accounting and reconciling of the financial to perpetual inventory. Coordination responsibility extends not only to production departments but to outside stockrooms
• Maintain a company-wide expense and cost control program coordinated with the budgetary control system
• Responsible for the financial coordination, administration and analysis of manufacturing operations. This involves analyzing sales and cost of sales, labor reporting, product costing, and monthly material usage variances and inventory adjustments
• Prepare quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and strategic plans
• Prepare tax schedules for the USA tax department
• Coordinate general insurance activities
• Coordinate sundry banking activities

Skills/Requirements
• 
• Must have working knowledge of project/cost accounting
• Must have hands on experience with ERP and MRP systems
• Requires strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to make effective presentations
• Bachelor’s degree + a minimum of 8 years related experience required. BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or Business desired
• Should have at least 5 yrs in a managerial role with direct defense contracting experience
