Grants Accountant

Matura Farrington is seeking an experienced Grants Accountant to join a highly influential non-profit organization located in Downtown LA. The Grants Accountant’s role will include a full spectrum of GL accounting responsibilities and work with administering awarded grants, managing records, and working with the organization’s trust department providing reports. The Grants Accountant will also play a key part in implementing new management procedures and grant reporting compliance standards. This is a great opportunity for a Grants Accountant who wishes to work for an organization making a true difference for an underprivileged group within a dynamic role allowing for career growth potential.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Handling grant financial reporting and fiscal management
• General Accounting and account reconciliation responsibilities
• Recording, analyzing and processing Cash Disbursement, Cash Receipts and Payroll
• Preparing ad hoc reports
• Working with client accounting department to resolve any grant discrepancies
• Preparing reimbursement packages
• Setting up budgets
• Reconciling general ledger accounts
To qualify, all applicants must have:
• 2+ years of experience in grant accounting and compliance specifically
• Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
• MS Office proficiency, especially Excel
• A/R experience within a non-profit
• Experience with analyzing financial data
